FJORDSTRONG is proud to announce our recent tender win with DAERA NI!
With a focus on areas near Rathlin and RedBay starting this month, our surveys will provide zero-impact data on distributions and abundances on our many species of shark, skate and ray in NI waters. Our results will contribute to the development of DAERA’s NI Elasmobranch Conservation Strategy which is set to play a crucial role in sustainable conservation efforts over the coming decades.
In addition to showcasing the advantages of our stereo-BRUVs as a sustainable alternative to outdated and destructive techniques, our 3D-cameras will take a deep dive into previously unsurveyed holes (over 120 m deep!) where they will perform photogrammetry to gain valuable insights into the life-history of our local bioidiversity – without the need for removing them from their habitat!
Join us on this exciting journey, as we work with DAERA to make a positive impact through zero-impact surveys.
